Cosi

Cosi is one of my go-to restaurants. I first visited Cosi when I was in Chicago about 3 years ago,and I’m very happy they are finally in San Antonio. The one of the big sellers for me is that they make the flat-bread fresh every 15 minutes, and you can choose between rustic or whole grain.

One of the promotions they have right now is the “Taste Two” where you can get a half sandwich and soup or salad, which is exactly what I had for dinner this evening. I chose the Grilled Chicken TBM (Tomato, Basil, fresh Mozzarella), and got it hot on whole grain flat-bread with the Signature Salad consisting of an array of mixed green, red grapes, pears, pistachios, dried cranberries and gorgonzola. I chose to get it “Lightened Up” which means the sherry shallot vinaigrette is traded for the low-fat version on both the sandwich and the salad.

Other favorites of mine include the Turkey and Brie Sandwich, the Brie and Fruit Tray, the Tomato Basil Soup, and I can’t wait to try the limited time Four Cheese and Fig Melt. I also recommend trying their breakfast sandwiches (with 8 different bagels flavors to choose from) finished off with a Latte.

What I love about Cosi is the use of all the fresh, healthy ingredients—like the basil and mozzarella—and the great prices. Other perks about include free Wi-Fi, the sharable S’mores (including all the fixings and fire right at your table), and their amazing catering services.

It is a little hidden if you don’t know it is there—it’s right behind the Palladium Theatre (Cold Stone Creamery is on one end and James Avery is on the other end of the section).

I would give Cosi a 5 out of 5 stars.
